Fender Precision Bass Sunburst 1967 Pre Owned Hiscox Case
NB Commission Sale : Shop Purchase / Collection ONLY!
This lovely 1960s Fender Precision Bass has had one owner since it was purchased new in 1967. Sound, look and feel are all in order. The bass is all original apart from the original neck was replaced out of necessity in 1972 due to a crack by the E machine head. The replacement neck was chosen from an available batch at the time, we date this neck from somewhere between 1969 and obviously no later than 1972. Neck has a date stamp, if we get any more accurate we will update the listing.
The only other missing original part is the bridge cover. Everything else is genuine playing wear and patina, no known modifications. Pots date to 1966 and original solder all present etc. The plate looks like it's the first time it's been off the body in decades. Remants of the three colour sunburst can be seen under the plate as pictured.
Fully set up and restrung before sale, so if you can get over the neck replacement you have a stunning bass at a sensible price. Being sold with a Bass Centre branded Hiscox so flight ready.
This is as much as we know and as much as the now retired owner can remember..great neck, excellent quality all round. It was used live a lot and in sessions back in the day including Johnny Kidd and the Pirates sessions and Leapy Lee's "Little Arrows" hit.
