Iconic player's grade collectors piece. This stunning instrument has had the same owner for three decades There have been no changes made by the current owner so we can only list its story as known. Presumed originally bought from Hugo Music in Ohio USA as the valuable case it comes with has a badge on it to that effect.
Mahogany neck, Maple body, Rosewood fingerboard. 24.75" scale. Florentine cutaway. Produced between 1955 and 1959.
Pick up appears to be original. We haven't removed the loom though wiring looks good via f hole.. The guitar has a had a very sympathetic refret with little wear on those, and it looks like the fingerboard and markers had a french polish or similar at that time as they are shinier than normal. The pickguard, tailpiece and truss rud cover are all in very good condition. Knobs and pickguard may have been replaced. The binding has coloured to off white throughout, the guitar overall is in fabulous condition for age with minimal markings over time and superb patina and a glorious yellow to brown sunburst. There is some as expected buckle rash and the tuners, whilst old looking are not the originals.
We have seen this model for sale anywhere between £3k and £7k and beyond. This guitar is priced to reflect known changes. A fine piece with lovely sound, currently strung with flatwounds.
