Gretsch description :

One of the finest, but lesser known hollow-bodied Gretsch guitars is the Country Club.

Gretsch introduced the Country Club in 1954, the same year that the Chet Atkins 6120 model was introduced and one year before the White Falcon. Although the Country Club is not as sought after as the other two, it is still one of the finest guitars that Gretsch produced in that era, and still reasonably priced in comparison. Production lasted until 1981, making it, by far, the longest running Gretsch guitar model. Gretsch Country Club players will tell you that they successfully handle many different genres of music. While it’s Jazz roots are obvious, Country Clubs can also handle Country and Rockabilly without breaking a sweat.

The Gretsch Country Club may not be the household name that a Country Gent is, but it's as "Gretsch" as they come. It is fully hollow and has a pretty substantial sound-post under the bridge so you get a good amount of sustain along with the resonance of a hollowbody. The CC is primarily maple with an ebony fingerboard. All three pickup position sound great. It can be very twangy if you want and Gretsch pickups are perfectly suited for fingerpicking too. It's a big guitar with a 17"+ lower bout.
