This lovely, virtually fifty year old jazz guitar was purchased second hand in 1985 and has been with the current owner ever since.
One very clean guitar in most respects, there is tarnishing and oxidation on the gold pickup covers and the bridge has a recently repaired split in it, other than that very little to report.
Stunning Sunburst finish (most examples we can find were Natural) with beautifully flamed maple for the body and sides and hard maple neck. Lovely patina considering how clean it is overall, just nicely aged.
The original hard case is supplied and after a lot of research we feel this is a 1975 model (the 2464 was only made betwwen 1975 and 1977). Serial numbers on the headstock for set neck Ibanez guitars appeared in 1976 and this doesn't have one or a label in the f hole.
The knobs are more early to mid 70s in style and the headstock shape appears to be more rounded on similar models from 76 and 77 so this is the reasoning behind our dating of 1975.
